Mark your calendars and join us at the 9th Annual Home Front Festival on Saturday, October 10th at Marina Bay Park.
Our annual event will kick off with the YMCA 5K & 10K fun run / walk and a family bike ride, beginning at the Craneway Pavilion (1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond CA 94804). There’s still time to register for this great event as well – $20 for individuals before September 10th. The proceeds from this event will benefit the Hilltop YMCA Youth Sports & Fitness Programs. Following the excitement of the Fun Run, FREE Home Front Festival activities will begin at three sites, all running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special children activities, including a Bicycle Rodeo and stunt bicycle show, family bicycle tour, choo choo train rides and petting zoo. Adults will enjoy our entertainment on stage 1 and well as other afternoon demonstrations, like Zumba. New this year is a performance by the 2015 Championship Golden State Warriors Show Time “Flying DUBS” acrobatic performance team. Visitors can head to the Red Oak Victory Ship for a tour, old time movies and more. Please note that visitors to the Red Oak Victory Ship MUST be able to walk up 40 steps to reach the top of the ship.
Attendees are also encouraged to learn more about the Rosie the Riveter and the great City of Richmond, by visiting the new permanent collection of artifacts at the Rosie the Riveter National Park Visitor Center for free.

KIDS CAN DO IT…outdoors!
Keeping with our family friendly theme, we decided to take our event outside to Lucretia Edwards Park.
At Lucretia Edwards Park, families can enjoy the beautiful Richmond Shoreline while visiting local vendors, playing games, listening to music from local bands & choirs, take bike tours from the Home Front Festival site to the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park and on to the SS Red Oak Victory Ship.
